Bugatti Unveils La Voiture Noire, the Most Expensive New Car Ever

Bugatti presented an ultra-expensive and fast car in Geneva whose name was concealed in secret, but now the time has finally come when it is discovered which vehicle it is. La Voiture Noire is the name of this super car that really looks amazing and makes you feel excited and somewhat scared at the same time. Designed to remind the legendary Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic, which is very important for the history of the brand itself.

Honor of the legend

At the very beginning of its existence, this brand produced many models that participated and won in various races, but at the same time, by special orders, models were made for rich merchants, businessmen and other important figures of their time. One of these cars is the Type 57 Atlantic, manufactured between 1936 and 1938 in four copies. Each was special for some specific detail.

The first model went to a Parisian entrepreneur and was later halved when he got stuck on a railroad crossing. The second was bought by baron Victor Rothschild, and today it is owned by American collector Peter W. Mullin. The third was bought by a British lawyer, and is now owned by Ralph Lauren. The fourth model was designed and driven by the son of Ettore Bugatti, Jean Bugatti. Jean died in a car accident in 1939, and the car was driven by train to Bordeaux, as well as many other models of the Molsheim factory. 

This car has already been nicknamed La Voiture Noire, which means "black car" in translation, and since that year, 1940, every trail is lost. The new model got its name after it, but if the original copy came from somewhere, that would surely be an even more memorable record in terms of price. In support of this, the claim is that Ralph Lauren refused to sell his copy for more than $ 100 million.  

Since translating his name means "night car," he is designed to act as a fantasy vehicle in which you can only see the refraction of surrounding lights. Its black silhouette makes you feel like you are in the presence of a vehicle from the future, which only tells how strong a visual impression the new Bugatti leaves.

This car is powered by a powerful 8.0-liter W16 engine that develops 1479 horsepower.
