ESPN announce top 100 most famous athletes of 2019

The US media company is conducting a survey of 100 most famous athletes every year, and as a sample they take into account how often these names are "googled", how many sponsorship contracts they have and how many followers on social networks they have. 


The list is led by amazing Cristiano Ronaldo, behind him is LeBron James and the first five are complete by Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr and MMA fighter Conor McGregor.

Roger Federer takes sixth place, Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli is seventh, Rafael Nadal eight, Steph Curry takes ninth place, while the top ten completes Tiger Woods.

By ESPN, more famous from Lewis Hamilton are Kevin Durent (basketball), Paul Pogba (football), MS Dhoni (cricket), Kylian Mbappé (football), Khabib Nurmagomedov (MMA), Antoine Griezmann (football), Serena Williams, the only lady in the top 20, as well as Yuvraj Singh (cricket) and Mesut Özil (football).

Interestingly behind Lewis Hamilton were Phil Mickelson (golf), Tom Brady (NFL), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (football), Sergio Ramos (football) and many others.
