2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is fastest-ever Vette

The long-awaited ZR1 version of the latest generation Chevrolet Corvette debuted at the Dubai car show with 766 horsepower.

Chevrolet says the ZR1 for 2018, apart from being the strongest so far, is also the fastest production version of the American supersport model, since the first generation Corvette was presented to the public at Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York, on January 17, 1953.

These epithets to the new ZR1 are due primarily to the exclusive 6.2-liter V8 LT5 engine with a 766-horsepower (563 kW) compressor at 6,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 969 Nm, available at 4,400 rpm.

The maximum speed of the car is over 338 km / h (210 miles per hour), and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (60mp/h) has not been published so far.

To extract such powerful performance from the car, Chevrolet engineers developed a special double fuel injection system.

The manufacturer wanted to meet the requirements of those who believe that the sports car must have a manual transmission only, so in addition to the eight-speed automatic, it also offered a version with a seven-speed manual transmission. 

In addition to the powerful propulsion system, the ZR1 also has a bunch of aerodynamic accessories that have improved the behavior of car on the road at high speeds, of which the most important is the massive wing of the rear spoiler.

Two aerodynamic packages are offered: Standard (Low Wing) and optional, with adjustable spoiler wing (High Wing).

A British man turned out to be so tired of his wife's nagging that one day he just 'got up and left' to stow away in the forest for ten years.

Malcolm Applegate, a 62-year-old plant specialist, had been married to his wife for three years before her persistent hassling turned out to be "excessively", he told the Daily Mail.

“For three years it was alright, we got on with one another and the gardening got too much for her,” said Applegate.

Applegate said it was now he chose to pack up and leave for good, without a word to anybody, including his family.

"I went missing from them for ten years," he added.

It took Applegate three weeks to walk from Birmingham to London before he decided to camp outdoors in "thick forest" close Kingston, south west London, where he worked with gardens at a close-by group community for the elderly.

He said three others were additionally outdoors in a similar range and they would now and then observe each other at the group focus, where they went for a shower.

"No one knew we were there. It's not well known — nobody would go in there.”

Over his decade resting unpleasant, Applegate also lost contact with his sister who went searching for him yet dreaded he was dead.
