A petition to sell Montana to Canada is gaining traction, even by people who live there

The Americans have a crazy idea of how to get rid of the state debt - they want to sell one of the states!

That they are serious about their intention shows the 17,000 signatures collected for a petition to sell the "useless" state of Montana to Canada for incredible trillion US dollars, all for "eliminating government debt that is more than 22 trillion.

"We have too much debt, and Montana is useless, just tell them that there are beavers or something," the Change.org petition states. Additional reasons given by petitioners include "the insignificant population" and their "aesthetics" that some claim are not in according to the rest of the United States.

At the time of writing this, about 17,000 people signed a petition for the sale of Montana. What is just about 1 percent of the population.

On the other hand, in Montana, they are not unlucky to be able to join Canada without the cost of moving.

"Frankly, most of us in Montana are completely fine with this. Let's do it, it would be good for me to get out of this hell," wrote one.

"It would be a wine-vin", others say.

There are also third parties, it seems that Canada would have no objection to adopting this state.

"Montana and its people would be a wonderful addition to our beautiful country. Welcome!" Wrote an enthusiastic Canadian.
