Construction of skyscrapers higher than 1000 meters begin

April 27 began work on a skyscraper "Kingdom Tower" which will be located in Jeddah, the largest sea port of Saudi Arabia. It is interesting that this will be the first skyscraper that will exceed 1,000 meters (3000 feet) in height.
"Kingdom Tower" designed by architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill, and if you read about the Burj Khalifa, maybe you known Adrian Smith is from before because he was the creator of the project on which is built the current tallest skyscraper in the world.

It is planned that construction will last for four years, and when the "Kingdom Tower" is completed at its more than 200 floors will be located apartments, business offices and a hotel, while the vantage point of the 157-th floor will be the highest vantage point in the world. With its 1000 meters, Kingdom Tower in Jeddah will rise above the clouds, it will with record speeds (12.5 meters per second) go up and down 59 elevators, of which five of them will be so called: 'Double decker' lifts. It is planned that on the construction of this giant will be spent over one billion two hundred million dollars.
Investor, as befits the richest Arab in the Middle East - Al-Waleed bin Talal - which, it seems, the figure of $ 20 billion seemed reasonable amount, that when it comes to tallest building in the world, to overthrone 828 meters high Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
